Mila is doing research at the intersection of language acquisition and statistics, trying to predict a child's output from quantity and quality of input as well as extralinguistic cues in the environment. She has collected highest-density data on language acquisition, tracking the everyday input a subject heard from the first day of birth to 18 months of age, along with hundreds of hours of video and audio recordings. Her primary supervisor is Sabine Stoll, and her secondary supervisor is Reinhard Furrer.
